| The principles and structure of boxing training are very similar to that of circuit training, where short bursts of intensive training are interval led with a set rest period (usually 60 seconds). The types of training include: |
The first thing that we will show you, how to perform the skills involved in boxing. You will learn how to move your feet, position your hands and throw punches. Learning these skills will ensure your boxing based workout is both safe and effective. |
Skipping is typically used by boxers not only as part of warming up for the intensive training ahead of them, but it is also used as a method of aerobic fitness training and to improve footwork and coordination. During your boxing training, you will learn not only how to skip like a real boxer, but you will also gain the physical conditioning required to perform both pad work and punch bag drills. |
Once you have gained a basic understanding of the movements involved in boxing, we will work with you using focus pads to use the skills you have learned in order to perform intensive punching drills. The pad work drills will last 1-2 minutes depending on your level of fitness, with a 1min rest period between each drill. Your trainer will call which combinations of punches are to be thrown and will ensure you move with him around the training area. |
Another element of boxing that PBI s training includes is bag work. The heavy punch bags that both amateur and professional boxers use to practice their punches and footwork on can also be used by you. In a similar way to pad work, your trainer will use a hanging punch bag to guide you through a series of intensive, explosive punching drills.
This type of training is an extremely popular method used by both males and females??? |
